Street Performer Auditions to be held at Branson Landing
March 7, 2007 -- BRANSON, MO. – The much anticipated auditions for street performers will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 10am to 4pm in the Town Square of Branson Landing, next to the water fountains.Producers, Bill Lennon and Gary Bartlett hope to find new talent for year two at The Landing and will be looking for the unusual to add to their stable of entertainers. We're planning to be surprised" says Producer Bill Lennon, "Last year, we were astounded with the diversity of the performers that auditioned and we expect to see an even more talented and eccentric group this year." “I’d love a steel drum player, a water balloon juggler… something you don’t normally see around here” says Lennon. The producers are excited about the auditions, "We won't know what we're looking for until we see it. It will be an adventure!"
Co-producer Gary Bartlett adds that the auditions were so much fun last year that this year they will be held in front of Branson Landing customers. "We'll be holding the auditions in front of the spectacular fountainin Town Square, where we also hold our concerts." Bartlett stated that the talent needs to be ready to perform without a sound system or accompanying music tracks and stresses that this is not an audition for bands. Todd Hiepler, General Manager of the Branson Landing, said “The Branson Landing street performers were very popular with our shoppers last year and have proven to be an essential part of the Landing experience, providing a unique element that is both visual and very entertaining.”
Participating in the judging of the talent this year will be a number of celebrity guest judges, including noted radio personality Janet Ellis of the "Steve and Janet" show on Branson’s local radio station, KRZK 106.3.
