BRANSON LANDING WINS INTERNATIONAL
DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT AWARD IN ANNUAL SHOPPING CENTER COMPETITION NEW YORK (December 4, 2008) – Throughout its history, the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC) has recognized and honored the shopping center industry’s most cutting-edge, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends, as well as outstanding examples of design and development through its Global Awards programs. As part of the shopping center industry’s premier awards competition, ICSC is pleased to announce that Branson Landing, Branson, Mo., has won a Design Award in its annual International Design and Development Awards competition. Since its inauguration in 1977, the ICSC International Design and Development Awards program has recognized outstanding projects for excellence in the creation of new retail projects, and in the expansion or redevelopment of existing projects, both internationally and domestically. ICSC announced the winners of its 32nd Design and Development Awards last evening at a gala awards ceremony during ICSC’s CenterBuild Conference in Phoenix, Ariz. The annual competition focuses on two general categories: Innovative Design and Construction of a New Project and Renovation or Expansion of an Existing Project. Branson Landing won its award in the Innovative Design and Construction of a New Project and Renovation category. In this category, entries can include a project involving an entire shopping center, such as an enclosure, or a single entries must relate to a specific new shopping center, completed and opened within a 24-month period; July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2007; and demonstrate how a specific design or construction problem was solved or how new standards in design and construction were established.
Branson Landing is a distinctive and popular destination, with its performance venues and amusement parks along Highway 76. Branson Landing is distinctive to the community, holding the singular position as the only downtown waterfront shopping, dining, living and entertainment venue. It is a remarkable master planned development for its unique context and character. It has redefined and reestablished the viability of the downtown area and the entire community. Truly spectacular, as well, is its $7.5 million night-time water feature that integrates light, fire, water and music. Branson Landing is owned by HCW, LLC and developed by HCW Development Company, LLC.
Winners in the 32nd International Design and Development Awards will automatically be eligible to win ICSC’s Global “Best-of-the-Best” Award which will recognize the shopping center industry’s most outstanding examples of cutting-edge properties, innovative solutions and creative responses to market trends throughout the world. These awards will be given during a gala awards ceremony during “A Night of Stars” at ICSC’s annual convention, RECon, being held May 17-20, 2009.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AWARD
Branson, Missouri – (September 9, 2009)
The Branson Landing development in downtown Branson was selected for the 2009 Director's Redevelopment Award at the Missouri Governor's Conference on Economic Development. The award will be presented during the Conference Sept. 9-11 in St. Louis. Representatives from HCW, the developer of Branson Landing, and the city of Branson will be in attendance to accept it. The annual award is given by the state to recognize the best example of a redevelopment project that had a significant impact on the neighborhood or community.
Situated on 95 acres along Lake Taneycomo, Branson Landing is a mixed-used, master planned development featuring more than 450,000 square feet of national retail shops, restaurants, luxury condominiums, a four-star hotel and entertainment. A night-time water feature that integrates light, fire, water and music is another popular attraction at the Landing.
In 2008, Branson Landing won a first place award by the International Society of Shopping Centers as Mixed-Use Retail Project Innovative Design and Construction of a New Project. Branson Landing was a public-private joint venture between the city of Branson and HCW Development Company, LLC.

Missouri businesses, individuals honored at Governor’s Conference on Economic Development
JEFFERSON CITY – Several Missouri businesses and individuals were honored recently at the 2009 Governor’s Conference on Economic Development in St. Louis.
The Director’s Redevelopment Award was presented to Branson Landing, Branson, for urban revitalization, environmental improvement, creation of civic space, and economic productivity.
Georganna Beachboard, Jefferson City, was the recipient of the Missouri Women’s Council’s Award of Distinction.
Acceleration, LLC, Lee’s Summit, was honored with the Small Business Award.
Pycior & Co’s, Lee’s Summit, captured the Governor’s Community Project of the Year Award for the Hartley Block Revitalization project.
ProEnergy Services, Sedalia, was the recipient of the Governor’s Project of the Year Award
Allen Filters, Inc., Springfield, received the Exporter of the Year Award for outstanding export performance in manufactured products and/or services.
Boeing Company and St. Louis Community College, both of St. Louis, received the Director’s Innovative Industry Training Award for their Pre-Employment Training Project.
Divergence, Inc., St. Louis, was presented with the Governor’s Technology Company of the Year Award.
Metro Medical Equipment & Supply, Inc., St. Louis, received the Governor’s Minority Business Award.
Dick Oldenburg, Washington, was the recipient of the Director’s Career Service in Economic Development Award winner. |
